MEET MELODY

My love for movement and its expressive capacities first drew me to dance, then to yoga. During my undergraduate studies in Dance, I discovered yoga and meditation—practices that helped me understand and reconcile longstanding patterns of disconnection from my body. This journey inspired my calling to guide others in bottom-up approaches to healing. Beyond yoga, my workshops incorporate partner-based co-regulation practices, somatic movement, energy attunement, and sacred rituals. I aim for my offerings to serve as a bridge between the psychological and spiritual, grounded in both neuroscience and shamanic practices. With over a decade of experience facilitating movement and group spaces, I lead from the understanding that healing is relational—arising both between ourselves and others, and within our own bodies.

I am a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with advanced training in Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy, Yin Yoga, and Trauma-Informed Yoga, and a certified Reiki practitioner. I am currently pursuing an M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles, with a specialization in spiritual and depth psychology. My approach is also shaped by my previous work as a speaker and trauma-informed consultant in the areas of SA prevention and child protection legislation. I have served as a guest educator at universities, advocated for a Universal Survivor Bill of Rights at the United Nations, and advised organizations on creating safer spaces for trauma survivors. I carry these lessons into my current work—fostering personal agency and holding safe containers are core principles I bring to every class, workshop, and circle I facilitate.

Kind words from Melody’s clients

Melody’s knowledge on the body and how to move in a healing way is impeccable. Her knowledge really shows in her intelligent sequencing, precise instructions, and slow medicinal-like approach to movement. Her class feels like a very potent medicine for my body. Give your body the experience and see how you feel after a class with her. I couldn’t recommend more highly.
